COMMITTEES
-
Street Team is A&O’s committee exclusively for first-year students. While on Street Team, new members have the opportunity to shadow three different A&O committees to help determine what they are most interested in joining the following year. Additionally, Street Team members take part in internal event planning and promotional activities for A&O’s concerts, speakers, and films.
-
Concerts Committee is responsible for working with agencies and artist management to secure performers for at least four concerts throughout the year, including Blowout (fall), Benefit (winter), and Ball and Philfest (spring). The committee welcomes (and encourages!) a diverse range of genre interests to help ensure that the committee is as representative of the general Northwestern student body as possible.
-
Speakers Committee handles booking for A&O’s speaker events. They work with agencies to bring entertaining and informative speakers for three events throughout the year. The committee welcomes (and encourages!) a diverse range of speaker interests to help ensure that the committee is as representative of the general Northwestern student body as possible.
-
Films Committee works directly with film distributors, campus organizations, and local venues to organize screenings for students both on and off campus. They produce A&O’s annual 24-hour B-Fest film festival. The committee welcomes (and encourages!) a diverse range of speaker interests to help ensure that the committee is as representative of the general Northwestern student body as possible.
-
The Production Committee manages the production needs—such as stages, backline, and venues—of all A&O events. They handle all run-of-show responsibilities to ensure that our events are successful, as well as safe and inclusive for all Northwestern students.
-
Media and Marketing (M&M)’s primary responsibility is to promote all of A&O’s events to the greater Northwestern community. This involves campaign planning, in-person marketing activations, graphic design, and social media management.
-
Finance Committee works between the A&O Executive team and the University SFO to allocate funds for all the events and performers we host throughout the year. They manage reimbursement requests for club members as well.
-
Community Engagement (CommE) is in charge of fostering a fun and inclusive environment for A&O members. This includes planning and executing all of A&O’s internal events (such as karaoke and A&O Retreat) for over 100 members, as well as cultivating a strong and reliable alumni network.
